Editorial policy
Rural Comedy Review aims to make clear, careful writing about rural comedy. We distinguish explanation from interpretation, check factual details where possible and welcome readers who spot something that needs correction.
Accuracy and context
We take care with names, dates, quotations and descriptions of comic forms. When a subject has different interpretations or the available information is uncertain, we say so rather than presenting one reading as settled fact. We avoid flattening rural places into a single experience or treating a comic convention as proof about real communities.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance to the publication. Payment or a partnership does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view. Any paid, partner-created or otherwise supported material is clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work.
Corrections and illustrations
If a reader identifies a factual error, we review it and correct the article when warranted, making the change clear when it materially affects the piece. Some illustrations on the site may be AI-generated; we identify them where they appear so they are not mistaken for documentary photographs.
